The article demonstrates how prioritizing mental well-being can improve employee productivity, retention, and overall business performance, contributing to long-term sustainability.
Although Corporate India has embraced the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework, the article highlighted that there are currently no “mental wellness” or “happiness” indicators within the framework. The article shows that incorporating mental health metrics and reporting like employee mental health surveys, mental health-related absenteeism and presenteeism, investment in mental health initiatives, employee turnover and retention rates and mental health-related training and education programs into the BRSR framework can be beneficial in creating a happy work environment.
