Bangalore, India –August 22, 2016, 1700 hrs IST: InGovern Research Services announces the release of a report Governance of Sports in India.

The report contains:

  • Analysis of governance of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and 26 National Sports Federations affiliated with IOA.
  • A view into Sports Governance principles in the EU and Australia.
  • The InGovern Sports Governance Framework as applied to IOA and the 26 NSFs.
  • Calls for Action – for governance of all sports associations.

Mr. Shriram Subramanian, Founder and MD of InGovern comments: “It is surprising to see that while citizens and sports lovers in India have a huge emotional involvement in sports, the sports associations and sports administrators are not held accountable for the performance of India at sporting events. Through this report of Governance of Sports in India, we are demanding greater governance standards of the IOA and the 26 NSFs affiliated with the IOA. We believe such enhanced governance standards will lead to greater involvement of all stakeholders, greater funding of sports, and eventually lead to better performance of India at international sporting events.”
