Brand Valuation

‘Brand’ is associated with product. A ‘brand’ is something that differentiates a product from one maker from a similar product from another maker. It is also something that influences the buyer to choose one among similar products. A ‘brand’ is the reason why a buyer buys a product from a maker and rejects a product from another maker even when both the products have same functional, cost and reliability characteristics. A ‘brand’ is also what a buyer perceives, thinks and feels when (s)he hears the brand name.

A company exists due to sale of its products, which is made possible through marketing and advertising. Effective marketing combined with quality of the product creates a ‘brand’ in the psyche of the customer, which determines the sale of the product and revenue generation capacity of the company.
