Shriram Subramanian, the MD and founder of InGovern, which advises institutional shareholders on voting during companies’ resolutions, said the fact that the stocks are reacting adversely to these reports show that investors believe the analysts rather than the management of the company, in this case Reliance Communications. “Institutional investors need to be more proactive in ensuring that the companies have independent directors and auditors who take principled stands on various key issues,” he said.
